You will work on custom WordPress themes, plugins, WooCommerce websites, API integrations, and website performance improvements. The ideal candidate understands WordPress architecture, PHP development, responsive frontend implementation, website security, and technical SEO. You will collaborate with designers, SEO specialists, and digital marketing teams to deliver scalable, maintainable WordPress websites that support business growth.
Responsibilities
- WordPress Development: Build and maintain responsive business websites using WordPress.
- Theme Development: Develop and customize WordPress themes, templates, blocks, and reusable website components.
- Plugin Development: Build or modify custom WordPress plugins using WordPress APIs and coding standards.
- WooCommerce Development: Customize e-commerce functionality, checkout processes, product templates, and payment integrations.
- API Integrations: Connect WordPress websites with external APIs, CRM systems, marketing platforms, and automation tools.
- Performance Optimization: Improve website speed, caching, database performance, and Core Web Vitals.
- Website Security: Implement secure coding practices, updates, backups, and vulnerability remediation.
- Technical SEO: Support schema markup, metadata, redirects, crawlability, and search-friendly website architecture.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose PHP errors, plugin conflicts, database issues, and frontend bugs.
- Maintenance: Manage website updates, testing, deployment, and ongoing technical improvements.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of professional WordPress development experience.
- Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL.
- Experience developing or customizing WordPress themes and plugins.
- Understanding of WordPress hooks, filters, custom post types, and REST API.
- Experience with Gutenberg, Advanced Custom Fields, or modern WordPress block development.
- Knowledge of WordPress security and performance optimization.
- Experience with WooCommerce customization.
- Familiarity with Git, hosting environments, and website migrations.
- Understanding of technical SEO and mobile-responsive development.
- Portfolio demonstrating completed WordPress projects.
Nice-to-have skills
- Experience developing custom WooCommerce extensions or payment gateway integrations.
- Familiarity with React and headless WordPress architectures.
- Experience with WP-CLI, Composer, and automated deployments.
